My Upcoming Reading List

29th-1-reading list

This post is a little weird for me. You know why? Because I don’t like to read. I’ve always been a visual person. But, I want to change all of that and learn to like reading. So, I’ve picked out a couple of books I’d like to read.

This story line sounded interesting. A little love story but also inspirational. Who knows, maybe I’ll learn a thing or two after reading this. The plot is about Annabel, a girl considered to have everything, at least that’s who she plays for a television commercial. In reality, she’s the girl with nothing and no one. Until, she meets Owen Armstrong. A music-obsessed, reformed bad boy with a commitment to truth-telling.Β With Owen’s help, maybe Annabel can face her past.

I thought about seeing the movie but I’ve grown tired of see love movies based off of novels. I want to read the book FIRST before seeing the movie. The plot is about a girl who’s allergic to the outside world. She’s never left the house, a full seventeen years. She was content with her life, until, a boy moves in next door. Their complicated romance starts out small buy grows more and more dangerous. The story is all about the thrill of love and the crazy things we’d do for each other.

I read a blog post about this story recently and I felt it would be a good book for me to try out. The plot is about a woman named Auburn Reed is determined to rebuild her life and make no mistakes. But, when she walks into an art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to fall for a studio artist named Owen Gentry. She takes to chance to open up her heart but discovers Owen is hiding a huge secret. Everything Auburn loves most will be destroyed if she doesn’t cut ties with Owen.

This one sounds really different. And I like that. The plot is about Kell, one of the last travelers, rare magicians who choose a London parallel universe to visit. There’s Red, Grey, White, and Black. Officially, he is a Red Traveler, a personal ambassador who carries monthly correspondences between royals of each London parallel. Unofficially, he smuggles those willing to pay for a glimpse of another world. This dangerous hobby comes with consequences which he comes to realize firsthand.

As you guys already know, I saw To The Bone not too long ago. Lily Collins is truly inspiring and an amazing young woman. So when I found out she has a book, well, I had to add it to my list. The book is where Lily shares her life and deepest secrets. Things that we all can relate to. It’s important to love what you see int he mirror and embrace yourself just as you are. Her honest voice will inspire you to be who you are and claim your own voice.

Hopefully, I will be able to read most of these before the year ends! Have you read any of these books before? Have any thoughts? Comment below πŸ™‚Screen Shot 2017-07-16 at 11.34.27 PM

  3. When I was younger, I used to think reading was not “cool”, but now it’s one of my favourite activities. I’m pretty sure that might happen to you, too. One of my friends has read Everything, Everything and she says it’s wonderful. I would like to recommend you Big Magic! by Elizabeth Gilbert. It will definitely change your view upon life (and creativity).
    Have a nice day!

  4. While I was reading your description for ‘Confess’ I kept accidentally reading Autumn because my name is Autumn Reid..which sounds so similar too Auburn Reed. Also Unfiltered sounds interesting, I’ve heard good things from everyone so I may give it a read as well! Lovely post xx

  5. I think that’s awesome that you’re going to give reading a go, considering it’s not your favourite thing to do. I’ve read Everything, Everything before but to be honest it wasn’t my favourite. I think because it’s a pretty predictable book and you can probably guess what’s going to happen. Best of luck girly! xo

  6. I’m so happy you’re giving reading a chance! It’s one of my favorite things to do (even if i am in the middle of a slump right now) and I hope you’ll enjoy it as well. Also, your to-be-read list sounds amazing. I’ve read a few of them and would love to hear your opinion on these stories πŸ™‚
