August has come and gone, so now it’s time for September to step up. Overall, I would say this was a good month for me. So many things have changed and I feel like I’ve done so much already. I’ll include you in on those down below. Now, this is how it works. I will share what I was obsessed with this month, what I accomplished, what I did, and what I’m thankful for. Let’s get to it!
WHAT I WAS OBSESSED WITH THIS MONTH
MY BEAUTY OBSESSION
Usually, I don’t try new beauty products. Once I like something, I stick to it. Never change things up. But, I’ve been loving the Shea Moisture products. Just about all of them actually. I love their face wipes, shampoo and conditioner, lotions. I can’t wait to try out more of their products. Maybe a face mask?
MY FASHION OBSESSION
Because it’s summer, I have been shopping like crazy. I bought a couple new shirts, cardigans, shorts, and sandals last week. I also found some cute overalls from Forever 21. They are so comfy and look really cute with cut off tank tops. I haven’t been able to find the right pair for over a year now. I don’t like the skin tight ones. I like it to be a little lose, especially around my hips.
MY FOOD OBSESSION
Lately, I’ve been eating bagels. A few weeks ago, I went to Bruegger’s Bagels for the first time, yes I’m serious, and I fell in love. I like the honey walnut cream cheese as well as the bacon scallion. I work at a restaurant in a hotel and discovered that they serve both of these cream cheese’s for breakfast. Now, every time I go to work, I eat a bagel with cream cheese, for free. Yay me!
WHAT I ACCOMPLISHED THIS MONTH
I COMPLETED MY MINI CHALLENGE
As you’ve probably noticed, I started my own monthly mini challenge series. It’s fun and I think my readers like to try them with me. It forces me to do things I wouldn’t normally do or things I should be doing. It helps me feel more confident. Anyways, this month, I did the Healthy Habits Mini Challenge and overall, I think it went pretty well. You probably already know this, but I like to do my review here instead of a separate post. Now then, let’s do the review!
- August 4th— I stopped procrastinating. I’ve been putting my plan for graduate school on the back burner so I made a change and got on it.
- August 9th— I did something nice for others. I bought a dozen cupcakes from Molly’s, my favorite, and passed them out to my towns homeless people.
- August 11th—I tried something new. I went paint balling with all guys. It was tough trying to stay in and not get defeated every second.
- August 15th— I avoid technology for the day. Honestly, it wasn’t that bad. I got SO MUCH done. I’d say it was a pretty productive day for me.
FINISHED SPANISH FOREVER
I’ve been taking Spanish since I was in elementary school and because I didn’t take it my senior year of high school, I had to take 4 semesters of it in college. Had to start ALL OVER again. I took Intermediate 1 and 2 in the summer so I would be done with it in a 12-weeks instead of another year. So glad I made that choice. The class is now over and I NEVER have to take Spanish again. I am so happy and proud of myself! After my last day, I celebrated with a margarita at my favorite restaurant, Cactus!
WHAT I DID THIS MONTH
I TRAVELED TO WISNONSIN
My best friend, Tran, moved to Fitchburg in June because her fiancé got a job there. It’s hard not seeing my best friend all the time so my other best friend, Emily, and I decided to come up for the weekend. I had a great time, especially with her cat, Zelda. She is so playful. Woke me up most of the night with her need to attach my toes. What I liked most about my visit was the food. It’s nice getting to try out new places and different styles that isn’t in Iowa. I tried this walking taco with Fritos and boy was it delicious!
STARTED MY SENIOR YEAR OF COLLEGE
It feels so weird to say that. The past few years really snuck up on me. I remember my senior year in high school. Everyone was counting down the days. But in college, at least for me, I didn’t even notice it. I plan on going to graduate school so I still have a few years a head of me. I will defiantly be counting down those days. It’ll be so amazing to be done with school. FOREVER. I look forward to all the new memories, football games, tailgating parties, and great nights with friends 🙂
WHAT I’M GRATEFUL FOR THIS MONTH
VOLUNTEERING FOR HOSPICE
I haven’t started yet but I am very excited and grateful for this opportunity for me to gain more experience, help those who are grieving, and comfort someone who is ill as well as their family. I’m a little nervous but I think this experience will be amazing for me and really give me a new perspective. I hope to do a post about this once I start seeing patients!
And now, I have finished this monthly wrap up! I would love to read your monthly posts too so send me a link below in the comments section.
